James Richards

JAMES RICHARDS, FASLA, is a national award-winning urban designer, artist, author and educator whose watercolor sketches have been in group and solo exhibitions in the U.S., Moscow and Havana.  He is a member of the Advisory Board and a blog correspondent for the international non-profit Urban Sketchers, and founder of Urban Sketchers Texas. He is co-founder of the urban design consultancy Townscape Inc., and is a former tenured professor of the University of Texas at Arlington’s School of Architecture.  His book, Freehand Drawing and Discovery: Urban Sketching and Concept Drawing for Designers, won a 2014 ASLA Honor Award.
